I am a 2021 Winter graduate from The Ohio State University, having received my B.S. in Biological Engineering. I have held positions in the fields of water engineering, biotechnical research, production and video editing, and construction management. I have diverse interests and experiences. When I am not working, I am typically teaching myself new trades; I enjoy woodworking, painting, and outdoor recreation/sports. Recently, I have found a passion in coding projects and building my own digital community.
Listed below are my top 5 technical skills and my relative comfortability using each platform. While I have learned all of these applications through my education and work experiences, I have additionally taken the time to teach myself numerous other technical pursuits; I have personal experience coding in Python, CSS, and HTML, 3-D modeling in SolidWorks, and building a PC.
Here you will learn the specifics of my work and education experience.
Feburary 2022 - Present
I currently work at Turner Construction in a unique dual role focusing on the launch of an additional building that will complete a 1 million square foot data center campus in New Albany, Ohio. In this role, I work partially in the procurement department focusing on the onboarding of subcontractors. Here I create bid lists, compare proposals, and aid in the vetting and selection of a potential subcontractor. In the engineering department, I work as a field engineer with the responsibility of coordinating with the site’s earthwork and foundations subcontractors. In this role I oversee that work is being conducted per the architectural drawings, change orders are processed as needed, and work is being performed safely. Working in this dual role at Turner taught me how to prioritize and delegate my workload as needed to ensure that deadlines are met in both separate departments. It has broadened my understanding of both the technical and financial aspects of business, in addition to allowing me to sharpen my leadership skills.
March 2020 - February 2022
I worked at the Ohio State in the area of water resource management under the University Water Engineer, Brenda VanCleave, PE. Within this position, I had completed multiple projects, including creating a cost-benefit analysis on Green Infrastructure; conducting and analyzing campus building water audits to characterize and reduce inefficient water uses; and utilizing GIS to map campus storm and sewer pipe conditions. This internship allowed me to apply my engineering education to the real-world industry, and I was able to learn about public-private utilities in the process.
May 2021 - December 2021
Working at a top 15 Fortune 500 company was one of the best work experiences I have had. Upon accepting my internship with Cardinal Health, I chose to work with the IT Meeting Technologies team, as I wanted to expand my technical abilities and learn about the behind-the-scenes operations at such a large entity. My day-to-day responsibilities included creating and managing corporate Zoom Meetings and Webinars with up to 10,000 attendees, including C-Suite executives. I frequently produced podcasts and informational videos for internal Cardinal Health clients using high-end AV equipment, Adobe After Effects, and Premiere Pro. At the request of my manager, my summer internship was extended through the fall; I am very grateful for everything I have been able to accomplish because of this.
December 2019 - March 2020
The plant species, Arabidopsis, is one of the first to have its genome completely sequenced. The ABRC grows, alters, and mass produces Arabidopsis’ seeds for education and research purposes such as Alzheimer medical trials. As a research assistant at ABRC, my day-to-day responsibilities included collecting and transferring 500-1000 samples for genome mapping and entering necessary data for the selected samples. Unfortunately, this position was abruptly furloughed at the beginning of the pandemic.
December 2015 - August 2019
As this was one of my first jobs, I am incredibly grateful for the experience I had. I assisted in the successful opening of two Duck Donuts locations in Westerville and Dublin, Ohio. Working for Duck Donuts allowed me to develop many soft skills including time management, team management, verbal communication, and multitasking. My day-to-day responsibilities included independently opening and closing the Westerville establishment, overseeing up to 8 employees per shift, performing weekly inventory documentation and product orders, and prioritizing product efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Other than a great personalitiy...
Being a strong problem solver requires solid ability to critically think. Whenever faced with an issue, I quickly evaluate the situation and consider multiple solutions. My engineering education has prepared me to critically think and apply my technical skillset to solve any given problem.
I don't hesitate to ask questions or bring a problem up to a team. I believe that open communication is most productive avenue to solve a problem.
Across both my classes and extracurricular experiences, I am often elected to leadership positions. My coworkers and classmates would describe me as a fair, dependable, and trustworthy leader. I try my best to lead by example in all of my pursuits and hold myself accountable to what is expected of me.
I am always looking for ways to increase the efficiency or quality of my work. When given a new task or instruction, I jump in readily. I am capable of working independently and effectively. I know when to seek help and when to problem solve on my own. I enjoy a challenge!
I have worked in diverse industries, providing me exposure to business operations as well as technical pursuits. I am highly technically proficient; I have taught myself numerous programs and technical platforms, where I had no previous experience.
Initial brainstorming sessions where “no answer is wrong”, are my favorite part of the design process. I believe my artistic hobbies increase my creativity both in conceptual design and problem solving.
